Love
Love. It is a feeling to describe yet we use it to describe so many of the relationships we hold dear. In this series, I focused on the aspects of love encompass our relationships with our pets, hobbies, and loved ones. Thank so so much to Diana, Louie, Rachael, Cory, and Katsu for helping me capture love on every level.

This 8 image series focuses on the four traditional wedding themes, something old, new borrowed, and blue. Behind each tradition lies deep rooted symbolism that represented with flowers holding the same symbolic meaning. This was my favorite shoot to do because I was able to see it through the entire way from the idea in my mind, the meetings with Jenny, my designer, and the early sketches I laid out. I also worked again with Polly from the Hyacinth Bean Flower Shop and loved her enthusiasm and passion about her flowers and this project. I couldn’t have had a better shooting and design experience! Thank you so much to Polly and Jenny for all of the time they put in to helping this project be a success!

From the Outside Looking In

I wanted to do a project looking within objects. Polly over at the Hyacinth Bean Flower Shop showed me the beauty of a rose beneath it’s petals and I continued to peek around her shop to see what other natural wonders I could find. I would love to continue this as a series looking into flowers beneath their petals.

Multiple Image Editorial Spread
We were assigned to create a fall fashion spread for a magazine with the theme “new fall colors.” I chose to use REAL SIMPLE and titled my spread “Fashionable Flavors of Fall” using coffee, cranberries, and various table settings and decor to showcase various fall fashion accessories.
This was by far my favorite assignment because it allowed us to envision a large spread and make one theme fit throughout. Multiple pictures series are always a challenge, but they also give you the most room to grow not only as a photographer but as a designer and visual artist.
My favorite image of the series was the coffee mug, coffee, and watch featured as the spread’s opening image. I loved the rich colors and creating the depth with the mug and the coffee beans spilling from it. I would love to expand on this image and maybe extend it to be included into another series with various beverage containers, their beverage, and an accessory. We shall see!
